BSGM has extensive experience in audits of Texas Independent School Districts, Regional Educational Service Centers, other educational institutions, and other governmental organizations. The Texas Education Agency’s (TEA) accounting and compliance requirements are complex and detailed in nature, and our firm has staff with the knowledge to address all of their details and help with issues or questions that may arise.

Members of the audit team have varied experience and a good understanding of auditing standards and procedures applicable to the District or Center. Our firm policy requires that each professional staff member complete at least 40 hours of continuing professional education annually. All staff members involved in governmental auditing must complete at least 24 hours applicable to governmental matters every two years. Annually, our firm attends the Texas Society’s Annual Texas School District Auditing and Accounting Conference, along with other specific courses tailored to meet the demanding requirements of TEA and the requirements of the Uniform Guidance (Single Audit)
